There are many ways to get funded, and TechVest has been involved in just about all of them since 1983. In today's climate, Western region ventures appear to be getting 80% of all US Venture money,
which in turn is far greater that the rest of the world. We ourselves have, or have through relationships with our network, direct personal access to about 50% of the top 100 American Venture Funds. But
there is also Angel Capital and there are private placements that should be called Development Capital
which are significant sources of funds around the country. In fact, it is generally accepted that angel capital accounts for two-thirds to three-fourths of all venture fundings.
Some of the angel money is domestic, some of it foreign, seeking participation especially in the
high technology arena. Then there are the banks, for the most part have been doing very well of late without taking on many ventures, but who are coming back into the higher-risk arena to help with
Project Capital. No matter what the funding source, investors want a superior due diligence that adds experienced judgement of venture success prospects as well as checks the usual facts,
TechVest does the deepest and most thorough due diligences in the business. |
